“Casablanca”, the classic 1942 American film starring Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman must have planted the first seed of curiosity in me about visiting Morocco, but what mostly shaped my decision to explore this enchanting country, was the alluring images of multicolored carpets in bazars, the endless arrays of blue-washed houses in Chefchaouen and the intricate zellige patterns decorating mosques and riads alike.  Nonetheless, this instagrammable country is not just about cool rugs, photogenic blue walls and fashionable tiles.
